‘Perfume’ is a song about bringing ourselves to the feet of Jesus in worship. Inspired by Luke 7:36-50 where we see a picture of unashamed, radical, abandoned worship; a woman forgiven and in love with her Saviour, pouring out her gratitude.

We don’t have alabaster jars these days, but we have our hearts. Some of the most precious times of worship and intimacy with Jesus come from those moments our hearts are broken before him, and that sacrifice of praise is given.

How amazing that we don’t have to “have it all together” to draw near to the One who loves and accepts us in our tears and struggles! I hope this song encourages others to do the same.
